The Beira-Harare Corridor Enters a New Phase
The Beira-Harare Corridor is entering a new phase of development with the expansion of fuel transportation capacity between Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Launched on September 2, 2026, in Mozambique’s Sofala Province, the project is designed to increase the annual capacity of the Beira-Feruka pipeline from 3 million to 5 million cubic metres, representing a nearly 67% increase.
Beyond the additional volumes, the project addresses a broader strategic challenge: securing energy supplies for landlocked markets in Southern Africa while improving the competitiveness of a corridor connecting a maritime gateway to a major regional consumption centre.

The Beira-Feruka Pipeline Capacity Will Rise from 3 to 5 Million m³
The project is being implemented by the Companhia do Pipeline Moçambique-Zimbabwe (CPMZ) and includes the construction of two new pumping stations in Manica Province.
Once completed, the Beira-Feruka pipeline is expected to transport up to 5 million m³ of fuel per year, compared with 3 million m³ currently.
That represents approximately 2 billion additional litres of fuel annually.
The project builds on investments already made along the corridor. An earlier expansion completed in 2024 increased the pipeline’s capacity from 2 million to 3 million m³ per year.
Commissioning of the new infrastructure is expected by the end of 2027.
